Senga Sengana
'Mid-late season variety '
The German cultivar has been cultivated since 1952. The appearance and the flesh is dark red (crimson). High brix levels imply aromatic taste of the variety. The robust habitus makes Senga Sengana a very classical mid season variety with outstanding winter hardiness. Senga Sengana is mostly cultivated on self-picking fields or produced for fresh markets. Yield is somewhat average. The conical fruit appears to be well suitable for industrial processors and freezing plants. Senga Sengana is sensitive to Verticilium wilt (fruit) and shows susceptible to root rot (Phytophthora cactorum).
