Compared to other day neutral varieties, “Hademar” provides a constant harvest based on its physiological balance between fl ower quantity and fruit quantity. We recommend to remove leaves after the first picking to ensure good light exposure and ventilation. “Hademar” can produce new leaves very quickly. The variety develops long flower stalks that grow above the leaf. Experience has shown that compared to other day neutral varieties, “Hademar” seems to be less susceptible to flower thrips.
“Hademar” has good resistance to root diseases and mildew. The variety is suitable for both open field cultivation and substrate culture in protected growing systems. At the end of the harvest, fruit deformations may occur. Practical experience has shown that nitrogen deficiency (NH4+) at during the first flower flush causes deformation in course of the harvest. Foliar nutrient testing in early stages can prevent this phenomenon.
